Job Title: Plant Manager (Fertilizer Production)

Introduction

An Agritalent client, a multinational agrichemicals producer, seeks plant managers at its Northen Cape and North West plants:

  • To manage & Supervise operations of the relevant warehouss, within the Company’s business standards, best practices for Operations, environmental health and maintenance
  • To seek new solutions for increased productivity
  • Work according to the principle of continuous improvement to ensure quality of product within required specifications

 

Duties & Responsibilities

 All operational & administrative tasks to run the Production plant, consist of:

 Run production facility to full capacity

 Management of raw material storage and keeping raw material bins full.

 Production planning and the availability of raw materials

 Manage the quality of products

 Manage maintenance teams with effective maintenance practices

 Manage and minimize the environmental impact of the production facility

 Manage and take ownership of the safety of personnel

 Managing practices to safeguard company assets.

 Effective management of senior and junior staff at the facility.

 Building relationships and managing liaisons with Agents and logistics

. Control processes to accomplish effective checklist reporting.

 Manage and develop production personnel

 Customer Liaison

 Responsible for Stock control and raw material receipts administration overseeing

. Production planning, floor stock and reporting administrative processes

. Optimize production outputs, formulations & ensure excellent quality controls are implemented

 Responsible for maintaining the plant related SHERQ activities and reports

 Responsible for plant preventative maintenance programs

 Co-ordinate plant and warehouse import related activities

 Exploring opportunities to increase plant efficiency.

 Exploring opportunities to reduce operating costs. On day-to-day plant operations.

 Ability to run the production facility within a budget, and to compile a budget

. Responsible for resolving a problem to its conclusion as Plant Manager

identify and train personnel for growth opportunities

Desired Experience & Qualification

 Experience in production and planning

 At least 3 years’ experience in fertilizer production & production planning (Will be advantageous)

 Matric (Grade 12)

 B.Com degree/ NQF 7 advantageous

 Thorough knowledge of plant maintenance

 Computer Literacy

 SAP knowledge will be advantageous

 Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook & Power Point

 Strong analytical skills and problem solving skills

 At least 5 years’ experience as Manager

 Thorough knowledge of blending plant maintenance
