Job Title: Artisan Boilermaker – Komatipoort
Introduction
Gxakra Investments (Pty) Ltd (“GI”) is a multi commodity mining, renewable energy and beneficiation
holding company.
GI is currently focused on coal, manganese, gold, energy and utilities with downstream beneficiation
of various products for the mining and manufacturing sectors.
The group operates through three key divisions; GI Smelting, GI Coal and GI Gold.
GI also has a financial services arm for procurement, insurance and medical – operates as a shared
services centre for all of GI’s investee companies.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Welding, cutting and designing of steel components in process plant.
- Comply with legal issues such as weekly inspections and logbook completion.
- Ensure plant availability by attending to maintenance schedules and breakdowns.
- Fitting and maintenance such steel structures as per design.
- General boiler making.
- Conducting risk assessment and corrective measures.
- General maintenance of the SHE systems.
- Take responsibility for legal inspections as per appointment.
- Should be able to do risk assessments in his/her area of responsibility.
- Perform standby duties as per company standards and procedure.
- Adhere to all Health and Safety policies and procedures as set by the Company.
- Assist with breakdowns and other maintenance in the plant.
- Good Housekeeping.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Grade 12 / N3
- Section 13/ 26D trade certificate
- 3-5 Years mining and plant maintenance
- 2-3 Fabrication and maintenance experience
- Valid Drivers License and own car to travel between sites.
Behavioural and technical competencies:
- Positive attitude and able to work independently
- Must be willing, have strong leadership skills
- Good Communication skills
- Able to understand and interpret drawings.
- Must be able to solve Boiler making problems / challenges quickly and efficiently
