Mthembeni Ndevu popularly known as Emtee is a South African rapper. Emtee was born on 15 September 1992. He is best known for his debut hit single “Roll Up“. The rapper was signed to Ambitiouz Entertainment, however, he has started his own record label “Emtee Records“. Emtee’s debut album Avery was certified Platinum by RISA on 1 July 2016.
Born in Matatiele, in the Eastern Cape, Mthembeni grew up in Rockville, Soweto, a major township in the Gauteng Province. He began his music career at a tender age. While he was 9 years old he performed on stage for the first time at a Yeoville Primary school talent show.
When he was 17 years old he became the youngest choir conductor at Barnato Park High School and won many provincial competitions as a member of his school’s marimba band.
In 2010 he collaborated with Maraza (a South African rapper) on a song titled ‘In It To Win It’. In 2015 his debut single ‘Roll Up’ was produced by Ruff. The song was a major hit it even topped DJ Speedsta’s hip hop chart on YFM.

According to many reports, Emtee has a net worth of about $1 Million. Emtee makes most of his money through concert tours. Every time the rapper steps on stage, he is always handsomely rewarded.
He has performed across the country and in the various African country. He has impressed at the Matatiele Music Festival, Cotton Fest, and Okapi Fun Festival among other places. In 2017, he performed at that year’s All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) in Lagos, Nigeria. Two years later, he was one of several artists invited to Namibia to perform at the Gazza Milli Concert in Sam Nujoma Stadium.
