Job Title: Technical Writer
Introduction
We are looking for a passionate, enthusiastic, self-driven Technical Writer who can help us create, edit, and organize highly technical information and turn it into compelling and useful content. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the documentation for the product suite is clear, correct, comprehensive and easy to use.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Learn product features and architecture
- Create and maintain technical documentation covering the entire scope of software applications.
- Create and organize internal technical information for developer processes, product features and new technologies
- Work with user experience and product management to understand, map, and describe customer identity journeys in step-by-step guides
- Review and maintain these guides
- Develop end-user documentation for new developers to understand the product and code
- Analyse support tickets and identify areas where documentation can help.
Job Requirements
- BSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field would be preferential.
- 3+ years’ experience in a software development environment
- 2 + years’ experience writing technical documentation and/or software manuals e.g. technical writing, editing and information design
- Must have experience with different types of diagrams e.g., ERD, UML, Process Flow, CRC, etc.
- Web development experience will be advantageous
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Clear understanding of the software development process.
