Job Title: Unit Manager – Theatre
Introduction
We’re recruiting a Senior Permanent Unit Manager- Theatre in Southern Suburbs area. In this role you will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day patient care, supervising, directing, and developing nurse staff, and reporting to the Nursing Manager to ensure quality patient care within a long-term care center, skilled nursing facility or assisted living community.
Duties & Responsibilities
Key outputs( but not limited too):
- Work within scope of practice
- Adhere to hospital policies, protocols and best practices
- Knowledge and insight into infection prevention principles
- Promote and maintain patient health and give health education
- Strong quality patient care orientation
- Valid BLS competent certificate
- Accompany Doctors on ward rounds
- High energy levels and tolerance for stress/pressure
- Identify risks and identify incident policies
- Adaptable and able to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills at all levels
Desired Experience & Qualification
Requirements:
- Diploma/Degree in General Nursing Care
- Post basic qualification in Management will be an advantage
- Valid registration with SANC
- At least five (5) years relevant experience in a Hospital Environment
- Experience in a Theatre environment is advantageous
- Proven experience in people management
- Must be able to function effectively independently
- Good understanding of the private healthcare sector
