Job Title: Solar Sales Representative (External Sales) – Renewable Energy – Cape Town
Duties & Responsibilities
Our client within the Renewable Energy sector is seeking a Sales Representative that will be responsible to promote and sell solar energy and services to residential and commercial customers in Cape Town.
Salary: R25 000 – R35 000 per Month plus Commission
• Medical Aid (Momentum) – 100% contribution from Company.
• Retirement Annuity Fund (Momentum) – 50% contribution from Company & 50 % contribution from the candidate.
• Proven track record in sales, preferably in the solar or renewable energy industry.
• Strong understanding of solar energy systems, their benefits, and the underlying technology.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage and build rapport with customers.
• Ability to deliver persuasive sales presentations and address customer objections.
• Strong negotiation and closing skills to achieve sales targets.
• Self-motivated and target-driven with the ability to work independently.
• Proficient in using CRM tools and sales software for lead management and reporting.
• Ability to analyze energy consumption patterns and provide accurate system sizing recommendations.
• Knowledge of local regulations, incentives, and financing options related to solar energy is a plus.
• A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to customer sites as needed.
• Lead Generation: Identify and generate leads through various channels, including cold calling, referrals, networking events, online research, and partnerships with local businesses. Utilise CRM tools to manage leads and track sales progress.
• Consultative Selling: Conduct in-depth consultations with potential customers to understand their energy needs, evaluate their property’s solar potential, and provide tailored solutions. Present the benefits of solar energy, including cost savings, environmental impact, and potential government incentives.
• Sales Presentations: Develop and deliver persuasive sales presentations to educate customers about solar energy, explain the installation process, and address any concerns or objections they may have. Customise presentations based on the customer’s specific requirements and energy consumption patterns.
• Proposal Development: Prepare comprehensive and accurate proposals outlining the recommended solar system design, equipment specifications, financial analysis, and estimated return on investment. Collaborate with engineering and design teams to ensure accurate and competitive proposals.
• Negotiation and Closing: Effectively negotiate terms and pricing to maximize sales opportunities while ensuring profitability. Overcome objections and address customer concerns to facilitate the closing of sales contracts.
• Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with customers throughout the sales process and beyond. Provide excellent customer service, address inquiries, and manage post-installation follow-up to ensure customer satisfaction and foster referrals.
• Market Research: Stay updated on solar industry trends, market dynamics, competitor activities, and government policies related to renewable energy. Continuously enhance knowledge of solar technology advancements and industry best practices.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams, including engineering, installation, and project management, to ensure a seamless transition from sales to installation. Communicate customer requirements and provide the necessary documentation for successful project execution.
