The business has been in operation for over four decades and has grown into a leader in specialised mine drilling operations, exploration, groundwater drilling and is also venturing into the solar farm drilling space where it is looking to expand footprint.

Job Title: General Manager – Business Developer (Drilling Industry)
Duties & Responsibilities
- Align strategy with execution and set goals for growth
- Ensure employees work productively and develop professionally
- Ensure employees follows health and safety regulations
- Ensure strong and effective communication with clients
- Ensure effective communication throughout all departments of business
- Evaluate and improve operations and financial performance
- Providing accurate and professional quotation to clients
- Provide solutions to issues (e.g., profit decline, employee conflicts, loss of business to competitors)
- Set and maintain policies and processes
- Marketing plans, LinkedIn, Website, updates, and adjustments
- Manage mining and groundwater shows and ensure exposure that align with company strategic markets
- Maintain a strong professional management personality in the organisation
- Maintain budgets and optimise expenses
- Oversee day-to-day operations
- Oversee maintenance and records of all vehicles and equipment
- Prepare regular reports
- Project planning
- Regular updates on vendors and tenders
- Regular employee meeting
- Regular site visits
- Training of new employees
- Implementation of new systems
- Vendor applications with mining houses and potential clients. Get Georoc through the front door up to receiving orders
- Work and maintain a collaboration between the Director and COO
Desired Experience & Qualifications
- Experience in exploration and or mining drilling environment
- Diploma or degree in business management or similar qualification. MBA or MBL qualification will be an advantage
- Fast learner of technical procedures of the drilling industry
- Minimum 5 to 10 years management experience in a small to medium, semi corporate industrial business environment
- Strong communications and computer skills
Package & Remuneration
- R450 000.00 to R1000 000.00 pa
- Will be determined by experience, industry knowledge and qualifications. To be discussed with potential candidate.
