Job Title: SAIPA-TRAINEESHIP (ARTICLES)

Introduction

FinHub is a well established auditing, accounting and tax firm based in Tyger Waterfront, Bellville. We are an accredited SAIPA training centre and offer various professional services to clients, while maintaining our values, integrity and ethics.

Job Summary:

The SAIPA traineeship/articles position involves assisting with various accounting and financial tasks. The incumbent will work closely with the Directors and other team members to ensure the accurate and timely recording of financial transactions, compliance with relevant regulations, and the smooth operation of the financial processes.

COMMENCEMENT DATE: ON 8 JANUARY 2024

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Entry: Accurately enter financial data into the company’s accounting software or spreadsheets, including invoices, receipts, and other financial records.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Conduct regular bank reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial records and identify any discrepancies.
  • Expense Tracking: Monitor and record company expenses, verifying receipts and ensuring adherence to budgetary guidelines.
  • Financial Reporting: Assist in generating financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements as required.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting regulations, including tax laws and financial reporting standards.
  • Assist Auditors: Collaborate with audit team during audits, providing required financial documents and supporting information.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or in the process of obtaining the degree).

Knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.

Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Strong communication skills – in English and Afrikaans.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Prior experience in a finance or accounting role is a plus.

Working Conditions:

This position is primarily office-based.

May require occasional overtime during month-end and year-end financial closing.

Ability to work with computers for extended periods.
