Job Title: Financial Accountant
Purpose of the job:
To ensure optimal management of financial operations in accordance with Company policies and procedures, all Laws and Accounting Standards and provide leadership in the planning, managing and co-ordinating delivery of financial reports to support business strategy and align all financial activities accordingly.
Duties & Responsibilities
Reviewing and Management
- Daily Casino Revenues and Reconciliations
- Daily Non-Gaming Revenues and Reconciliations
- Approve monthly creditors/payables payments & reconciliations
- Ensuring that supplier queries are dealt with and suppliers are paid timeously
- Debtors – All problem debts to be escalated.
- Internal reports to HODs and Directors on a weekly & monthly basis
Processing of financial transactions and reporting
- Oversee that the recording of stock and fixed assets is accurately maintained
- Month-end cost of sales reports for food and beverage are compiled
- Daily review of flash reports
- Ensure that the weekly levy payments to the GGB are done
- Reconcile and prepare VAT reconciliation for payment before the due date
- Ensure that all queries pertaining to management accounts are dealt with
- Assist with year-end audits and internal audits
- Preparation of month-end management accounts
- Assist Finance Manager with the departmental budgets
- Assist Finance Manager to prepare weekly forecasts
- Ensure that disciplinary procedures are conducted in accordance with company procedures
- Direct assistant to Financial Manager
- Supervise, monitor, and motivate incumbents
- Perform any other legitimate activities as required by the Employer
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Grade 12
- Accounting qualification (Degree or Diploma)
- 5 years experience in a financial/accounting environment.
