Job Title: Chef de Partei / Commis Chef
Introduction
We are opening another Gourmet store and we require a Chef de Partei / Commis Chef to start immediately. Please see requirements and apply for the position as interviews will commence within the following week.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Must have experience working in a busy kitchen
- Prepare and serve food according to a planned menu
- Prepare hot and cold meals and hot beverages
- Attend to special diet requests and customer complaints
- Measure ingredients for portion sizes
- Ensure high standards are maintained with regard to food display
- Ensure minimisation of spoilage and wastage of food in the kitchen through correct usage and storage
- Ordering of fresh stock
- Cleaning of the kitchen and equipment
- Compliance with knife regulations
- Maintain personal hygiene and cleanliness
- Compliance with health and safety regulations
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Matric, Certificate or Diploma in Culinary Arts
- Must be able to make general calculations and measurements for recipes
- Must have a criminal clear record for access to the airport (will be checked)
- Must be willing to work shifts
Minimum criteria:
- Must have a Matric
- PC literate
- Proven track record
- At least 2 years of experience
