Bushveld Minerals is a low-cost, vertically integrated primary vanadium producer. It is one of only three operating primary vanadium producers, owning 2 of the world’s 4 operating primary vanadium processing facilities. Our target is to organically grow production to more than 8,000 mtVp.a. in the medium term.

Job Title: Mechanical Engineer
Introduction
Designs, develops, fabricates, modifies, installs, and/or tests mechanical or electromechanical systems such as instruments, controls, engines, machines, and/or mechanical, thermal, hydraulic, or heat transfer systems for a part of a major project or for a total project of moderate scope
Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage the mechanical technician with their artisan.
- Supporting the Business Unit with problem-solving projects, shutdowns, and breakdowns
- Co-ordinating projects, repair, and maintenance
- Co-ordinate environmental projects and reports for the Maintenance and Projects Manager
- Coordinate and organize maintenance, projects, and repair in the Business Units.
- Support Business Units with shutdown and problems solving.
- Organize, plan, and control projects.
- Support the Business Unit with CAPEX information and budget control.
- Organize control and coordinate project contractors.
- Implement a continuous asset improvement program.
- Implement an effective maintenance philosophy for the plant to reach the set targets.
- Ensure safe working condition in the plant is in accordance with Health and Safety.
- Ensure that good housekeeping is maintained.
Desired Experience & Qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- At least 4+ years of experience in boilers, plant equipment, and conveyor systems
- A PMP certificate will be advantageous.
- Registered PR Eng will be advantageous.
- Proven record of previous Supervisory management positions in an industrial environment.
- Proven record of problem-solving skills in a heavy industrial Environment.
- Have a good knowledge of Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality systems and legislation.
- Must understand financial systems and proven record to control costs.
- Must have good people skills and a record of good management performance.
- Intermediate level of proficiency with MS Projects and Excel
- Demonstrate decisiveness in resolving problems and making decisions.
Must be proficient in developing budgets, attention to detail, and planning.
