Job Title: Section Head: Production

Duties & Responsibilities
Conduct proper production planning in advance.
Maintain production targets by ensuring that the required products are delivered daily.
Render guidance to the logistics to ensure an effective and efficient supply of parts and materials.
Manage and address discipline and general work performance of employees and lasers within the department.
Monitor, control, and ensure completion of all daily tasks..
Act proactively by identifying, solving, and/or reporting unforeseen challenges.
Attend to and sign off all clock cards and process to payroll weekly.
Manage the department resources and all materials involved.
Re-engineer logistical process including provision and control of materials.
Ensure the general neatness of the department.
Manage and monitor tools within the department in liaison with the Manager.
Responsible and accountable for all OHS matters.
Management of all machines in Section.
Control duties by recording the movement of products through the production process against preplanned schedules.
Identify and report production backlogs or shortfalls in materials.
Report problems or situations to the Department Manager.
Ensure that all work done on the production line is on standard and adheres to quality standards.
Ensure that all employees adhere to Safety and Security Regulations and procedures.
Oversee QC in the department, quality assurance of materials and parts received and dispatched.
Communicate with Buyers and where needed with external suppliers about stock issues.
Manage and control monthly stock takes as well as daily and weekly cycle counts.
Reporting on monthly stock takes scrap parts and KPIs.
Managing and monitoring laser consumables.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Matric
Qualification in production/operations management (beneficial)
At least 3 – 5 years experience in the supervision or management of a production/manufacturing environment (essential)
Experience within the manufacturing industry (essential)
Previous experience in bending, laser, CNC, and robot programming (beneficial)
