Job Title: External Sales Representative
Purpose
Achieve maximum sales profitability, growth and account penetration within an assigned client base and/or market segment.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Establish, grow and service new business in KZN.
- Grow current customer base to achieve set sales targets and maximize profits.
- Implement diagnostic selling methods to engage with key decision makers.
- Implement individual operational plans to ensure defined targets are met.
- Pro-actively identify new business opportunities, whilst maintaining current client base.
- Liaise with management on pricing (special, contract and normal pricing)
- Perform accurate cost calculations.
- Identify and provide feedback on cost saving initiatives within area of control.
- Update and monitor contract requirements.
- Negotiate with client(s) on contract specifications/terms.
- Provide market intelligence based on competitive pricing structures and activities to grow market share or enter new markets.
- Build, support and maintain interpersonal and team relationships to ensure stable working environment and achievement of team objectives.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Mimimum Grade 12 with a tertiary qualification.
- Higher certificate in sales is advantageous
- 5 years sales experience and the ability to interact at a senior level.
- Valid drivers licence is essential.
- Proven track record supplying into the automotive industry with a strong knowledge of flat steel products.
- Proficient levels in MS Office and SAP.
- Excellent communication skills, decision-making skills and negotiation skills.
- Self-motivated, self-disciplined with effective time management.
- Must be prepared to work outside normal working hours if and when required.
