Job Title: Business Development Manager
Duties & Responsibilities
- Market Research and Analysis: Conduct thorough market research to identify potential clients, trends, and opportunities in the construction material hiring industry. Analyse competitors and market dynamics to develop effective strategies.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients. Understand their needs, provide tailored solutions, and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Sales and Revenue Generation: Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue targets. Identify and pursue new business opportunities, negotiate contracts, and close deals effectively.
- Product Knowledge: Possess a deep understanding of construction materials and equipment available for hire. Educate clients on the benefits and appropriate usage of different products.
- Industry Expertise: Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and advancements. Use this knowledge to position the company’s offerings effectively and adapt strategies accordingly.
- Networking: Establish a strong professional network within the construction industry. Attend industry events, trade shows, and conferences to expand the company’s presence.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including operations, marketing, and finance to ensure seamless service delivery, accurate pricing, and efficient operations.
- Reporting: Prepare regular reports on sales activities, revenue, and market trends. Present these reports to senior management for strategic decision-making.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Skills Required:
- Sales and Negotiation: Proven track record in achieving and exceeding sales targets. Strong negotiation skills to close deals on favourable terms.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to present ideas, products, and solutions clearly and persuasively to clients.
- Customer Focus: Customer-centric approach with the ability to understand client needs and offer tailored solutions.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and execute business development strategies aligned with company goals and market dynamics.
- Problem Solving: Effective problem-solving skills to address client challenges and provide innovative solutions.
- Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of the construction material hiring industry, including equipment types, applications, and market trends.
- Relationship Building: Strong interpersonal skills to establish and nurture relationships with clients, industry professionals, and internal teams.
- Time Management: Efficiently manage time and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in business development, sales, or a related role within the construction industry.
- Familiarity with construction equipment, materials, and their applications.
- Track record of successful business development and revenue generation.
- Strong references demonstrating successful business development and client management achievements.
- Professional certifications in sales, business development, or construction management are advantageous.
Package & Remuneration
R1,200,000.00 – R1,440,000.00 per annum
