Job Title: Financial Accountant
My client is a ground-breaking Retail Property Development firm, providing tenants in the retail and commercial space the opportunity to enter unexplored territories within previously untapped markets. The incumbent will not only be involved in the financial function but also in market research of different territories, cost trends, and lease negotiations. There will be regular travel involved to different provinces.
Duties & Responsibilities
My client is instrumental in new market exploration; this conduit allows tenant offerings to enter unexplored territory, which gives isolated communities instant access to convenience goods. The company locates the ideal property within an aligned consumer habitat, catering to the needs of the community.
As the Financial Accountant you will be responsible for:
- Cost of sales calculations
- Gather and monitor financial data (e.g. sales revenues and liabilities)
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual statements (balance sheets and income statements)
- Forecast costs and revenues
- Prepare budgets
- Addressing arrears of rent
- Recovery of utility bills such as rates and taxes, water, sewage, electricity, and any other recoverable costs
- Property management
- Leasing research and negotiation with national tenants
- Financial management.
Job Experience and Skills Required:
- Qualified CA(SA) with 1 plus year post articles experience
- Willingness to travel
- An entrepreneurial individual who wants to gain experience in finance business partnering
