Roles & Responsibilities

Monitor, track, troubleshoot, and resolve issues within the network.

• Designing and implementing new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks.

• Installing, configuring, and supporting network equipment including but not limited to routers, switches, and wireless LANs.

• Managing subcontractors involved with network installation.

• Configuring routing and switching equipment to maximize network efficiency and security.

• Maximising network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting.

• Arranging scheduled upgrades & cutovers.

• Prioritizing and investigating faults in the network, as well as escalating any outages that may occur in our upstream providers networks.

• Timeously escalating any network issues, faults, or potential problems to applicable management.

• Updating network equipment to the latest firmware releases.

• Reporting network status to key internal and external stakeholders.

• Ensuring constant communication with clients & internal teams with regards to issues, ETA’s, and resolutions.

• Adhering to daily disciplines, as set out by the organisation i.e., ticket admin, reporting etc.

• Respond and resolve alerts & tickets generated from the monitoring systems and/or customer requests within the internal SLA as set out by the organisation.

• Work with team members to implement and improve the company’s best practices.
