Job Title: Millwright – Durban
Duties & Responsibilities
- Will be responsible for the electrical and mechanical maintenance at various sites as well as for planned maintenance schedules
- Maintenance and fabrication duties according to maintenance procedures
- Ensure the correct usage of and safeguard company assets
- Perform planned maintenance (mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation, according to maintenance schedules
- Oversee, manage, and direct Assistants and Junior Artisans
- Maintain a safe working environment
- Mechanical and electrical maintenance on water treatment plants
- Perform all duties to the standards of an Artisan in terms of the OHSAct or Mine Health and Safety Act
- Perform routine / special maintenance interventions on all plant, machinery, and ancillary equipment at treatment plants
- Commissioning of new / modified plants
- Assist with shutdown and start up procedures for all plants
- Prepare equipment for inspection
- Monitor equipment corrosion
- Maintain maintenance records
- Manage and control workshop equipment and tools
- Be available for 24-hour rotational stand-by duties
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Certified Trade Tested Millwright (red seal)
- 5+ years’ experience as a Millwright Artisan
- Medically fit to work on industrial / mining sites
- Valid driver’s licence
- Prepared to work shifts, do standby duties, callouts, and work overtime as required
- Able to work at heights and in confined spaces
- Computer literate
- Grade 12 / N3 / equivalent NQF 4 qualification (preferred)
