Job Title: Electrical Engineer
Introduction
Our Electrical Engineer will be in charge of planning and coordinating technical engineering initiatives to ensure our projects are completed according to schedule and required standards. Not one day will be the same, but this should be nothing new in the exciting life of an engineer. Our Engineer will thrive on a diverse scope of projects and industries and be able to juggle a lot of balls in the air at any given time (and be able to quantify the formula for that!) because that is how our Engineers roll. We trust you to complete tasks on your own in a hybrid work environment, with a high level of accountability and responsibility. Our Electrical Engineer will form part of our team where we don’t just work, but play and have fun whenever we can.
Duties
- Feasibility studies of “Blue-Sky projects”: reviewing all broad engineering, maintenance issues, sustainability, and commercial viability of future potential projects
- Develop grid and hybrid Solar PV solutions for proposals, tenders, and projects
- Establish provisional costings for engineering aspects of projects
- Confirm detailed Scope of Work / Bill of Quantities
- PV Plant design and engineering
- Quality assurance of Projects
- High-level and Detailed drawings & designs
- Fault-finding and Analytics with the ability to provide solutions and results
- Ensure overall cost-effectiveness of the project.
WHAT YOU MUST HAVE TO APPLY
- B.Eng / BSc (Eng) in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification
- Instrumentation & automation experience would be an added plus
- A minimum of 5 years experience as an Electrical Engineer
- Proven experience in design and implementation
- Pleasant personality, driven individual with a “make-it-happen” work ethic
- South African Citizenship*, Clear Criminal Record*, Valid Driver’s License*
If you have any of these, it will make you stand out more
- Experience with Solar PV within the Commercial and Industrial Sector
- Proficient in Helioscope, PVsyst, MS Office & MS Project, and AutoCAD (or similar)
- PV Greencard
- Proficiency in Microsoft, with emphasis on Word and Excel
