Job Title: Logistics Co-Ordinator / Controller (cape Town)
Introduction
Our SAAS Logistics client, based in Durbanville, CT, is looking to employ a Logistics coordinator / Controller.
Duties & Responsibilities
Expediting, and scheduling of loads and vehicles. Interaction with customers and Carriers
Duties & Responsibilities
- Daily receiving and processing of transport orders
- Daily planning, routing, and scheduling of vehicles.
- Risk management – ensuring all loads are adequately insured and that high-value loads are monitored from loading to delivery
- Adhering to booking slots for direct deliveries
- Daily measurement of Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) in accordance with each client’s Service Level Agreement (SLA)
- Day-to-day building and management of service-driven and professional relationship with all key contacts at clients, warehouse, loading points, delivery points and subcontractors
- Administration function – feed all load data into TMS; reconciliation of POD’s; in-transit claims recording and investigation
Desired Experience & Qualification
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 2-3 years experience in a similar controller position
- Excellent communication skills – daily contact with clients, dispatch teams, delivery points, subcontractors, and drivers (English and Afrikaans)
- Computer literacy – experienced in working on transport operational system, MS Word, PowerPoint, and above-average MS Excel skills
- Well versed in e-mail etiquette and MS Outlook with good writing skills
- A professional and service-driven approach to dealing with clients and service providers alike
- Neat and punctual with the natural ability to organize
- The ability & willingness to work long hours and within strict collection and delivery times constraints
- Needs to have 3PL experience
