Job Title: Area Sales Manager

Introduction

Within the framework of the department’s objectives and yearly action plans,

  • An area sales manager is responsible for the development and implementation of a Sales Strategy and determining the Sales Strategy by market segments and distribution channels, in line with the Commercial Strategy, with the final aim of achieving the commercial goals and generating business value.
  • The ASM Coordinates all sales activities and supervises the entire sales processes in the designated area/region, in line with Integrity and compliance rules. Manages Sales teams’ activities, including new hires, employee orientation and retention, team development and coaching, performance management, managing budgets, and sales forecasting. Establishes, develops and maintains business relationships with current and potential customers, adding value to their businesses with the LH offers (products, services, solutions).

Duties & Responsibilities

Sales Management:

  • Participate in the definition of BU sales strategy.
  • Projects and forecasts annual and quarterly revenue for customers.
  • Tracks sales team metrics, analyzes sales results and develops plans to address performance gaps.
  • Identify business opportunities and convert them into sales
  • Participate in the definition of BU pricing architecture.
  •  Participate in the design and implementation of the value proposition per segment.
  • Propose and implement customer-driven sales processes.

Market Information availability, management & sharing:

  • Monitor competition, economic indicators, and industry trends; collects, through team members, information relevant to the company for the purpose of supporting the development of impactful commercial strategies (new opportunities, new market penetration, new business development).

 

Customer Value Management:

  • Maintains a deep understanding of customers’ business – ecosystem, their business and the business of their customers, their needs and preferences.
  • Enhances the price/value realization by customizing & supporting the team in demonstrating the value proposition of the products, solutions, or services to (new) customers versus the Next Best Alternative.
  • Builds loyalty to the LH brand and manages customer relationships through all phases of the selling cycle, including customer complaints or inquiries related to products, services, or solutions.

Team performance management:

  • Leads the team to performance, by promoting a collaborative and safe work environment:
  • Builds and leads a strong team that works together and with other internal teams toward a shared goal.
  • Facilitates communication (including informal) between (cross functional) team members and provides regular feedback to build on differing perspectives of others and enhance team efficiency and performance.
  • Delegates responsibilities, sets clear expectations, sets targets, performance plans, and rigorous, objective standards for team members
  • Manages the performance of team members through regular one-on-one & team performance reviews; holds employees accountable for the job to be done.

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • A 3-year Degree or National Higher Diploma in commercial fields of study is essential.
  • Working knowledge and experience of the LafargeHolcim sales and marketing methodology and products
  • A minimum of five years of experience in the similar role
