How to VOTE Idol SA (Season 18) 2022

In order for a winner for the Idol SA season 18 to be crowned, voting has to be done. Once voting has commenced you need to show support to your favourite contestant by voting. In this guide, we’ll show you how to vote for Idol SA season 18 2024.

If this is your first time of voting, make sure you check our guide on how to register for voting on Idol SAKeep in mind, however, that if you already registered for voting on Idol SA Website in previous seasons, you don’t need to go through the process again. Simply login and proceed with the steps outlined below.

Channels of Voting on Idol SA

There are four ways to vote for your favourite Idol. Use all the options outlined below and you could cast up to 400 votes for your fave, bettering their chances of advancing every week and claiming the ultimate prize.

  • Our mobile website
  • SMS
  • The MyDStv app (Not be confused with the DStv NOW app)

HOW TO VOTE on the Idolssa.tv WEBSITE

(once you’re a registered voter)

  • You may vote for your favourite contestant using your laptop, desktop computer (or other device with a desktop browser) via the Idols SA website. Start by navigating to www.idolssa.tv
  • Next, click on the VOTE menu item. You can also get to this page quickly and easily by typing “www.idolssa.tv/vote into your browser
  • Click on LOGIN and enter your cell phone number in the international format eg. +27731234567
  • Enter your chosen password and then click the SIGN IN button
  • Select your favourite contestant
  • Enter the number of votes you would like to cast. Click VOTE to submit them
  • Votes on the website are limited to 100 votes per user.
  • Website votes are free.
  • Data costs apply.

HOW TO VOTE on the Idolssa.tv MOBILE SITE

(once you’re a registered voter)

  • You may vote for your favourite contestant using your smartphone, tablet or other mobile device via the Idols SA mobile site. Start by navigating to www.idolssa.tv
  • Next, click on the VOTE menu item. You can also get to this page quickly and easily by typing “www.idolssa.tv/vote into your browser
  • Click on LOGIN and enter your cell phone number in the international format e.g: +27731234567
  • Enter your chosen password and then click the SIGN IN button
  • Select your favourite contestant
  • Enter the number of votes you would like to cast. Click VOTE to submit them.
  • Votes on our mobile website are limited to 100 votes per user.
  • Mobile website votes are free.
  • Data costs apply.

HOW TO VOTE via SMS on Idols SA

(South Africa only)

  • To VOTE for your favourite contestant, SMS their number to 37400
  • SMS voting is limited to 100 votes per user.
  • Each SMS vote will cost you R1,50.
  • Free SMSs do not apply.

HOW TO VOTE using the MyDStv App

  • You may vote for your favourite contestant via the MyDStv App [NOTE: This is not the same as the DStv Now app].
  • Get started by downloading the DStv app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. Simply click here.
  • Next, log into the app by entering your Mobile number or Email Address and your DStv Connect Password
  • Once you’ve logged into the MyDStv app, look for the Idols SA “VOTE” banner and click it on it. The Idols SA voting page will then load in your browser.
  • Next, you’ll need to Login or register. If you’re not already registered to vote on our website, here are the instructions.
  • If you’re already a registered voter, enter your cellphone number and password then click Sign in
  • Once logged in, select your favourite contestant and enter the number of votes you would like to cast. Click VOTE to submit them
  • You must be an active or inactive DStv subscriber to receive your 100, free DStv app votes
  • DStv App votes are free

Voting opens on Sundays either at the top of the show or during the live broadcast. It will be communicated explicitly both on-air and on our social media platforms that the lines are open. Voting will close on Tuesdays at 10pm unless there is an extension to the voting period which will also be communicated on all our platforms.
