Job Title: Qualified Financial Accountant and Tax Practitioner – Junior Management (Pretoria North)

Introduction

  • Elawpro is looking for a self-motivated Accountant and Tax Practitioner to join our Financial Management Team. In this role, the Applicant will play an important role in our Firm’s financial operations as well as those of Clients and must be eager to obtain and retain new business. The Applicant must be able to ensure accuracy in accounting and compliance with the law. We are not only an accountancy Firm, but also an HR and IR practice with huge possibilities of growth.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Communicating with Clients to ensure that all their needs are understood and addressed.
  • Building strong client relationships to maintain old business and acquire new Clients.
  • Collaborate with various internal departments to ensure that they fulfill all Client requirements.
  • Resolving complaints and keeping track of all processes that pertain to the Client’s desires.
  • Acting as the Client’s representative in our Firm to ensure that their demands are met with a focus on improving the Client’s experience.
  • Collecting and analysing data concerning consumer behaviour to understand changing needs.
  • Reconciling the Firm and Client’s bank statements and bookkeeping ledgers.
  • Capturing daily/monthly invoicing for certain Clients and ensure statements are sent out in time.
  • Reconciling the Firm and Client’s bank statements with bookkeeping ledgers.
  • Completing analysis of the employee expenditure.
  • Monthly management meetings with the Firm and Clients.
  • Managing income and expenditure accounts for both the Firm and the Clients alike.
  • Generating the Firm and Client’s financial reports using income and expenditure data.
  • Keeping a check on the Firm and Client’s finances based on financial status.
  • Filing and remitting taxes and other financial obligations.
  • Initiating and managing financial and accounting software used by the Firm and Clients.
  • Payroll administration (weekly, fortnight and monthly) for the Firm and Clients.
  • Recon hours captured and worked (in-house).
  • Full cycle accounting from processing to reporting.
  • Debtors, Creditors, Cash Books, GL, Trial Balance, Journals.
  • Preparation of Management Report Packs.
  • Monthly Reporting.
  • Maintenance of Asset Register.
  • Manage a junior admin/accounting assistant available to support the candidate.

Critical skills required:

  • A meticulous, detail-oriented eye.
  • The candidate should have the ability to curate their communication style to that of each stakeholder.
  • Ability to think critically and solve problems objectively.
  • Ability to multi-task and effectively manage time to meet deadlines and provide satisfactory results.
  • Strong analytical, literal and numerical skills.
  • Function well under pressure.

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • B.Com Accounting Degree. (Required)
  • SAIPA accreditation. (Required)
  • 3 Years of articles (training) completed. (Required)
  • At least 1 – 2 years practical work experience.
  • Completed Board Exams (will be an advantage).
  • SageOne Accounting Software experience. (Required)
  • SimplePay Payroll software (will be an advantage).
  • English and Afrikaans proficient (read, speak & write). (Required)
  • Office based work in Pretoria-North area (will be beneficial if applicant lives in the vicinity of Pretoria North/Montana or at least no further than 20+/- km from the centre of Pretoria North).
  • Own transport and driver’s license.

Preference will be given to candidates that can start immediately.

Package & Remuneration

Package and remuneration will be based on qualification and experience.

Pension Fund/Provident fund after successful completion of the three month probation period.
