SENIOR ACCOUNTANT – GOODWOOD, CAPE TOWN

Appointment: Permanent, full-time position.

Area: Goodwood, Cape Town, Western Cape

Salary: R 30 000-00 – R 35 000-00 CTC per month

To ensure the provision of a high-quality financial accounting service that supports the effective management of a large company’s financial resources, within the statutory and regulatory guidelines. The accountant reports to the Financial Manager and will be responsible for the full accounting duties such as the debtors, creditors, petty cash, banking accounts, and statutory and monthly reporting.

• At least 3 years’ experience in commerce and industry.
• Matric with Accounting.
• Minimum qualification – Tertiary Qualification in Accounting.
• Computer Literate – proficient in MS Office with advanced Excel Skills.
• Previous Financial software package experience is essential.
• Creditors: Including processing of invoices; Following up with suppliers and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner; and Account reconciliations.
• Debtors: Processing payments, producing statement of accounts, collection on overdue accounts and account reconciliations.
• Banking – processing bank deposits and bank reconciliations.
• Processing of employee expenses.
• Company credit card reconciliations.
• Invoice creation and distribution when required.
• Filing and record retention.
• Petty cash.
• Bank account reconciliations.
• Statutory and monthly reporting.
• Keeping and maintaining fixed asset register.
• General journals – depreciation, provisions, interest, salaries, etc.
