Job Title: Wine Co-ordinator

Our client is a dynamic and ambitious family owned and run export trading business based in Durban that has been in existence for the last 50 years with a third generation in place. They specialize in the export of FMCG’s, fruit and vegetables, meat, wines and building materials to over 45 countries throughout the world. They have subsidiary businesses in various other countries that we are involved in.
They are looking for a is looking for a vibrant, competent, and self-motivated team player with excellent communication, time-management, planning and organizational skills to join our wine Export team based in Cape Town (Tygervalley). The ideal candidate must have had previous experience in the procurement of wine specifically for exports.
We are also looking for the ability to multitask and work accurately under pressure. The position requires excellent communication skills (Afrikaans & English) to liaise with suppliers and our shipping department.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Acceptance of all wine export orders and communication with the suppliers to facilitate the delivery of orders
- Communication with suppliers in terms of future orders
- Relationship building and visits to all wine suppliers
- Negotiation and procurement with all wine suppliers
- Maintaining and updating annual price lists and images.
- All aspects of handling the export documentation for all orders, understanding of SAWIS and customs
- Follow through with the logistics of all wine orders in terms of vintages, stock changes etc.
- Assistance in the procurement of certain wines from the Cape wine region
- Administrative tasks associated with the logistics and export of wine.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Matric required, a relevant tertiary qualification will be advantageous
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role relating to exports, logistics or sales & procurement environment, particularly in the wine industry.
- Knowledge of SAWIS and compliance regulations
- Excellent computer literacy (Ezy Wine, MS Office, specifically Microsoft Excel)
- Experience in workflow designs or creation of a logistics system or process would be advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work methodically and meet tight deadlines
