Job Title: Human Resources Manager – Gauteng Area

Introduction

Anastellar Brands is a South African Pharmaceutical Company, with a range of innovative Nutraceutical and Cosmetic products.

We are looking for a Human Resources Manager with a proven track record (experience) of managing a staff complement of more than 150 people, with varying education and skill set nationally throughout South Africa.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Management Duties
    1. The management and overseeing of all departments and staff members within the company relates to human resource matters.
    2. Maintaining relationships with all the human resources within the Company.
  • Recruitment and Training
    1. Search, selection, recruitment, reference checks, appointment, onboarding, and training of all new and current employees according to a Training Roster.
    2. Drafting of letters of offer, employment contracts, training programmes and job descriptions for all staff members.
    3. Train all Staff Members on SOPs and maintain a Training Record thereof.
  • Maintenance of the HR files/records of all employees
    1. Work with our IT Specialists to automate as many manual HR Functions as possible.
    2. Controlling the timekeeping, rostering, and leave of all staff members.
  •  Communication
    1. Prepare a Monthly Staff Newsletter that is to be shared with the Team celebrating victories, discussing overall Company Performance, New Product Launches, and any other relevant Company / Personnel News.
    2. Take the lead on organizing Staff Meetings, Team Building Sessions, and Bi-Annual or Quarterly Conferences.
    3. Responsible for the motivation and counseling of all employees to ensure low staff turnover, improve staff retention and ensure a motivated team with a good Company morale and ethos.
    4. Through implementation of systems, the HR ensures that the inter-departmental communication and information flow is optimized.
    5. In conjunction with the various departments, formulates the broad policies and systems of the company.
  • Performance Management
    1. Prepare, adjust, and maintain all Company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) relating to Human Resources and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
    2. Responsible for all disciplinary issues with staff members. Should the matter be referred to the CCMA, liaison with the Labour Relations Professional until the matter is closed.
    3. Responsible for conducting Performance Reviews with all staff members together with their respective Managers on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. This may include doing mystery visits on staff/ghost calling.
  • Skills Development
    1. Embark on Projects to upskill all Staff.
    2. Take the lead on Skills Development, BEE Compliance, and CSR Projects.
  • Succession planning and pipeline
    1. Company Organogram.
    2. Responsible for the overall administration of the business and is part of the decision-making process.
  • Monthly Payroll and Expenses
    1. Responsible for compiling and maintaining payroll for all staff members. This includes ensuring that all Staff Member Banking Details / Masterfiles are recorded with the Auditors as well as updated on the Bank’s List of Beneficiaries.
    2. Responsible for the control of all staff member expenses such as petrol, marketing claims and stationery.
    3. Responsible for advising on and implementing staff KPIs, salaries, increases, incentives, and bonuses.
  • Creative
    1. Good presentation and creative skills to deliver Key Messages and Strategies to the Team in a way that you are able to attain maximum “buy in”, accountability and responsibility from the Team
  • Any other reasonable duty as deemed necessary by the Board of Directors.

This is an Industrial Relations Position and requires a candidate with strong interpersonal skills who can bring out the BEST in a Team, while still maintaining high standards of workplace discipline due to the size of the Team.

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • minimum of 5 years experience as a Human Resources Manager, particularly in Industrial Relations.
  • Must have an undergraduate degree in Human Resources or equivalent.
  • Well-versed with the Labour Relations, Basic Conditions of Employment, and Skills Development Act within the South African setting.
  • Experience in Drafting Contracts, Standard Operating Procedures, and Disciplinary matters.
  • Experience in the Microsoft Office Packages.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with an aptitude for bringing out the best in a Team.
  • Excellent organization, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
  • Must reside within a reasonable traveling distance to Head Office, which is based in Randpark Ridge, Randburg, JHB.
  • Valid Drivers Licence, own reliable motor vehicle with insurance.
  • Ability to travel away from home to conduct visits to all Team Members nationally.
  • Fluent in English, Afrikaans as well as another Official South African Language.

Package & Remuneration

Recruitment Level: Senior Level Experience

Salary Bracket: Gross Cost to Company Salary of R50 000 to R60 000 per Month before Commission and Incentives.

Remuneration will be commensurate with experience but will include a Basic Salary, Benefits and Commission.

Package Details per Annum:

Cost to Company Salary including Benefits (but excluding Commission and Incentives)

Lowest Salary Band Per Annum – R600 000

Highest Salary Band Per Annum – R720 000

Maximum Annual Commission based on a Balanced Scorecard / Dashboard (R10 000 per Month) provided all KPIs are met in full

Maximum Annual Quarterly Incentives based on a Balanced Scorecard / Dashboard (R15 000 per Quarter) provided all KPI’s are met in full

Highest Salary Band Per Annum – R60 000

Total Maximum Cost to Company Annual Salary

Lowest Salary Band Per Annum – R780 000

Highest Salary Band Per Annum – R900 000

*Medical Aid, Commission, and Incentives are only applicable after the successful completion of the Probationary Period (4 Months).
