Job Title: Operations Controller – CPT
Introduction
We are looking for an operations controller who will report directly to the Branch Manager and who will undertake the following tasks on a day-to-day basis:
Duties & Responsibilities
- The Capturing and Printing of Trip-sheets
- Handling Client Queries
- Following up on deliveries and giving clients feedback
- The Complete Management and Handling of Client Collections
- Applying pressure to the Night Shift staff to ensure that the linehaul vehicles depart timeously
- To be on standby for any incidents which occur after hours
- To make well-planned, strategic decisions in the event of having surplus cargo on any evening / afternoon
- Weekend planning with the supervisors
- Arranging trailers for weekend collections and placement thereof
- Following up on linehaul vehicles and getting accurate arrival times from different branches
- Making sure airfreight is lodged timeously
- Scanning PODs
- Booking and following up on sub-contractor collections and deliveries
- Filing of office paperwork and archiving
- Assist with the printing of waybills
- Timesheets – ensure staff checks in and out correctly. Send to HR weekly for processing
- Maintenance reports
- Booking vehicles in for services/ maintenance
- Online bookings (collections/ deliveries)
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Must be able to work under pressure
- Be focused and task orientated
- Valid driver’s license and own transport
- Computer literacy – proficiency in Word, excel and Outlook
- Must always communicate clearly
- Willing to work beyond normal working hours, evenings, weekends and holidays when required
- Attend/ participate in company meetings/ functions and customer meetings/ functions
- Always be prepared go above and beyond
- Previous experience in a similar role required
