Job Title: Export Coodinator
Duties & Responsibilities
- Organise, monitor and control all logistical activities (from farm to ship) related to the export of citrus in a cost-effective manner.
- Allocate fruit per customer as per packing plan.
- Update packing schedules as per packing plan or as the export process develops and proactively manage the process.
- Daily and weekly stock updates for the customers, including transport detail where applicable.
- Ensure correct pricing and billing of invoices and communicate with all relevant stakeholders internally and externally.
- Reconciling export files and accurate data input of export files in company computer systems.
- Follow up on the collection of money and documents from export customers via finances.
- Follow-up and finalize all export shipments with appropriate party.
- Verify daily actual pack out with plan shipment.
- Setting up and adhere to seasonal marketing plans and follow-up weekly on trading and shipping.
- Set up and checking of carton and pallet labels, and all necessary marking requirements for each pack.
- Daily check of floor on stock, including half pallets and incomplete consignments.
- Adhere to PPECB and DAFF regulations, and protocols per special market.
- Generate addendums in order to comply with export certificate for containers loaded.
- Assisting harbor with intakes having fruit spec discrepancies in order to release the cargo.
- Finalize the citrus season and reconcile cartons comparing cartons packed, invoiced, sent to the local market and harbor discrepancies.
- Confirmation of cartons packed for the season per customer.
- Ensure timely communication with all relevant stakeholders internally and externally ( for example service providers, freight forwarder, shipping lines in relation to stock shipped out and forecasting to ensure adequate space on vessels etc).
- Maintain a well-balanced interpersonal relationship with management, colleagues and customers.
- Apply a professional code of conduct and adhere to the company’s core values and work ethos.
- Review and check shipping documents and paperwork for 100% accuracy and according to packing plan and market requirements.
- Maintain filing system and record of shipments on the relevant databases and ensure it is retrievable for audit and record purposes.
Desired Experience & Qualification
NQF 4 or equivalent qualification is a must.
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent diploma in agricultural economics or production management will be an advantage.
Experience
Must have at least 5 years experience in exporting.
Experience in the exporting of fresh fruit will be an added advantage.
- Computer literate in Excel & MS Word – essential.
- Procedural and systematic, conscientious and disciplined.
- Attention to detail.
A driven individual that can cope under pressure.
Package & Remuneration
Negotiable in line with individual’s qualifications and experience.
